Why Upper Highway families choose us

Teachers trained on site

The College of Modern Montessori's KwaZulu-Natal campus shares this site and has held MACTE accreditation at Early Childhood level since 2011. Our directresses are trained here, to the same international standard as our Johannesburg staff.

Established since 2003

More than twenty years in the Upper Highway area, part of a Montessori group operating in South Africa since 1989 and founded in London in 1981.

Genuine Montessori

Classes fully equipped with Montessori materials across practical life, sensorial, language, maths and the cultural subjects — not a conventional curriculum with Montessori materials added.

Low teacher-to-child ratios

Low instruction ratios so that each child gets the individual attention that makes the Montessori method work.

Inside the classrooms

Three prepared environments, each fully equipped across practical life, sensorial, language, maths and the cultural subjects. Everything sits at child height, in order, where a child can fetch what they need and put it back.
